Terms of Service

Last updated 1 November 2026

The short version

1. Agreeing to these terms

Last Light of Hearthhold (“the game”) is made and run by Last Light Studio (“we”, “us”). By playing, as a guest or with an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't play.

2. Who can play

You must be at least 13, or the minimum age for online services in your country if that's higher. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.

3. Your account

4. Rules of play

Don't:

5. Moderation and enforcement

We decide whether something breaks these Terms, and our decision is final. At any time, at our sole discretion and with or without notice, we may:

We may also take action against any other accounts we believe belong to you or were used to help you. If you are banned, you may not play again on a new or different account; any account used to get around a ban will be banned as well. You can report a player by tapping their name in the game.

6. Virtual items

Gold, gems, shards, Embers, sigils, items, pets and other game content let you play the game. They are not your property and have no real-world value, and they can't be sold or exchanged for money. We may change them, for example to balance the game. The game has no purchases today; if we add any, extra terms will be shown before you buy.

7. The game will change

We regularly update, rebalance and add to the game, and it may sometimes be offline. In rare cases, for example while the game is in early development, we may need to reset progress; we'll warn players beforehand whenever we reasonably can. If we ever close the game, we'll give at least 30 days' notice where possible.

8. Our content

The game's art, music, code, names and world belong to Last Light Studio. You may play it for your own, non-commercial enjoyment. You're welcome to share screenshots and videos of your play, but don't copy, sell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the game.

9. Your content

You're responsible for what you write in chat and the names you choose. You let us store and show them to other players so the game works.

10. Ending your account

You can stop playing and delete your account at any time (Menu, then Account, then Delete account, or see lastlightrpg.com/delete-account).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, and to refuse or end your access to the game, at any time and at our sole discretion, with or without notice. This includes where we believe you have broken these Terms, put other players, the game or us at risk, or acted in a way that harms the community, and where we are required to by law.

If your account is suspended or terminated, for any reason, you lose access to it and to everything on it, including your heroes, items, currencies and progress, and you are not entitled to any refund, compensation or restoration.

11. No guarantees

The game is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running well, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that progress will never be lost.

12. Our liability

As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses, or for lost virtual items or progress. Our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the last 12 months, which today is nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.

13. Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere as a consumer, you keep the protections that your own country's laws give you.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these Terms we'll update the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell players in the game first. Playing after a change means you accept the new Terms.
